Monica Turoni graduated with honours at the Music Conservatory “G. Rossini” in Pesaro under the guide of the harpist Anna Maria Palombini in 1998. In the same year she participated at the “Progetto Arpa” of the harpists Carrol Mc Laughlin and Park Stickney (in collaboration with the Berklee Faculty Piano Improvisation) during the edition of Umbria Jazz in Perugia. She attended the Master Classes of the “Accademia Musicale Chigiana” of Siena under the guide of the harpist Susanna Mildonian receiving a special scholarship offered by S.I.A.E. (Società Italiana Autori ed Editori) and the Merit Diploma; moreover she studied with David Watkins, Susann McDonald and Judith Liber. In 1998 she received the Honour Diploma at the 4th European Harp Symposium in Perugia and in 1999 she played in the section “Focus on Youth” at the 7th World Harp Congress in Prague.
Ms Turoni classified on top positions at National and International Competitions: the VII Competition “Victor Salvi” in Viggiano, “Rovere d’Oro” in S. Bartolomeo al Mare (IM), “AGIMUS” in Tortona, “AULOS” in Rimini.
She played with the “Orchestra Giovanile Italiana” of School of Music of Fiesole (conductors: E.Inbal and D.Gatti), the “Orchestra and Chorus Collegium Musicum”, University of Bologna, “Bruno Maderna Orchestra” and the “Orchestra Filarmonica delle Marche”.
In 2002 she graduated at the “National Academy St.Cecilia” in Rome under the guide of Elena Zaniboni and in 2004 she obtained the Performer Diploma at the School of Music of Indiana University in Bloomington (Usa) under the guide of the harpist Susann McDonald receiving the IU Merit scholarship. In 2007 she graduated at the Music Conservatory “Bruno Maderna” in Cesena obtaining the Academic Diploma of 2nd level (the Italian Master’s degree) with 110 cum laude.
Since Ms Turoni started, she played in many solo and chamber music recitals, including her solo debut at Carnegie Hall in New York in 2012. She has also premiered several works.
She is currently Instrumental Instructor at The University of Edinburgh and teaches in her private studio in Scotland.

Ms Turoni has recorded her solo CD “Harp Recital” (Rugginenti Editore), chamber music CD “Seguitemi, ne udrete delle belle!” music by Aurelio Samorì (Ed. Mobydick), “Anima Eletta” music by Andrea Mati, Franco Poggiali Berlinghieri (Ed. Le rêve d’être).
The composer Aurelio Samorì composed and dedicated to her the Cadenza for the Concerto in Bb Major op.4, no.6 by G.F. Handel.
She published with Black Wolf Edition & Publishing Ltd. “Il metodo pedagogico per arpa di Henriette Renié”, the transcriptions for flute and harp of “Serenade” by Franz Schubert, “Allegro Appassionato Op.43” by Camille Saint-Saëns and transcriptions for Celtic or pedal harp “Russian Melodies”.
